I got this shimano trinnidad DC in to service. Out of the rock and surf multipliers used locally this is probably the best multiplier made from the shimano stable.
The TN gold series is excellent but the DC reel is a few steps above them in terms of build and pedigree.
The DC is very well made in terms of quality, better than most reels in the SA market. The quality of the frame and side plates are excellent. The anodizing in excellent, each side plate screw has its own aluminium washer, the reel boasts a digital cast control system to help prevent overruns, it comes with a carbon fiber drag washer system, the anti reverse dog is spring loaded so always works, the anti reverse bearing is a double length one to ensure extreme locking ability and reliability, the main gear is large aluminium bronze while the pinion gear is made from stainless steel. The spool is supported by 3 bearings, the driveshaft is a solid thick shaft, the anti reverse dog plate is huge to sustain constant pressures, the star and handle ergonomics cannot be flawed.
All in all a class act and hard to beat as well.
