I got this 20-40 one of my favorite reels from Yusuf Pandor from Durban to service. I the real reason it arrived was to fit my Jmag adjustable anti back lash cast control system.

Upon inspection i found it needed some work and decided that i needed to fix the issues which i will point out.

The right side spool bearing was corroded and rusted onto the spool-shaft, some fine motor skills were required to remove this without causing further damage. The clutch lever i found was fitted back to front, this encourages hooking on clothing and lines when least desired so when i stripped i fitted this the correct way once again. The handle and chrome areas had developed some corrosion so this was removed as well.
The drive shaft bearing under the star was seized onto the main shaft this i had to remove with a puller and cleaned the shaft area so it worked correctly and so that future problems of the same kind would not occur here again. Some corrosion had from on the clicker itself this was also removed and treated. Standard the left side spool comes with a bush this i removed and fitted a bearing, when this bush runs dry i find it eats the spools shaft area away so the bearing is better here.

Then i stripped the reel completely, serviced it, treated all the problem areas and fitted my Jmag cast control system so he can now fish this multiplier without further overruns.

Have a close look at how the reel looked when it arrived, then compare it to the assembly pictures to get a good idea of the quality and craftsmanship of my work.

I am happy to report this reel felt great when i sent it back, i am sure he will get lots of joy out of this class reel now that it has been further enhanced with the modifications done.

I got 3 reels in to sort out from Bruno Mori from Reunion Island.

Two penn international 30 SW models and another lever drag reel. All were in need of loads of TLC.

On the one international the 2 speed was not working, I needed to machine parts damaged to fix them, on both i needed to replace a few bearings, fix the drag, remove and then treat corrosion...............all in all not straightforward servicing.

Lots of JJ TLC were required.

I am happy to inform all 3 reels are fixed working perfectly and all the issues i found on arrival have been fixed also.

Have a look at the international reels, check the corrosion shown, aside from the items not working which the pictures cannot show.

Please closely compare the before to after photos to get an idea of the skill and craftsmanship required to repair and restore reels that have been damaged and broken over time.

Please have your reels serviced on time, do not wait until they have broken.
