Suidpunt Diepsee Hengel Klub | Suidpunt Deep Sea Angling Club
The origins of the Suidpunt Deep Sea Angling Club / Diepsee Hengel Klub began with the registration of the Cape Boat and Ski-boat Club / Kaapse Boot en Ski-boot Klub in June 1988. The Committee was approved and the ground rules were drawn up. The club originally began with a small group of Stuisbaai members who each paid R130 to become a club member.
Earl Fenwick (1971 Springbok Colours) was nominated as the first Chairman and the Suidpunt Deep Sea Angling Club grew to see the evolution of Deep Sea and Rock & Surf Angling at the Southernmost Tip of Africa. Naturally, given the abundance of fish species and the challenging conditions, the Club is proud to have been witness to the rise of many great fishermen including a few fishing legends.
